Allow around 20 minutes to reach the sand; the time varies with photo stops and how comfortable you are on Positano’s steps.

Google Maps occasionally sends guests through slower detours. Stick with this route and the map below for the fastest descent.

Route from Hostel Brikette to Fornillo Beach

1. Leave the hostel and walk down the steps to Viale Pasitea.

2. Cross the road and take the stairs straight ahead marked with number 31.

3. Follow the stairs until you reach the road, then turn right and continue downhill.

4. Pass the parking garages and keep walking until you see the Hotel Posa Posa sign on your right.

5. Just past the hotel, reach a bend in the road and turn right onto the pedestrian path (see the photo).

6. Follow the pathway all the way down to the beach.

Getting back from Fornillo Beach

Returning from the beach can be tiring in hot weather. The easiest option is to walk along the waterfront to the main beach and catch the interno bus uphill.

1. Walk to the far left side of Fornillo Beach (left when facing the water) and follow the path to Spiaggia Grande.

2. Enter the main beach through the port and exit the jetty, then walk straight ahead.

3. Take the walkway off the beachfront straight ahead, then take the first right between the shops.

4. Climb the steps to the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, head left up the lane, and reach the one-way road at the top.

5. The interno bus stop is here; buy tickets at any Tabacchi/newsagent before you need them.
